Born and raised in Manila, Philippines but now a resident of New
York. Have been interested in Philippine Philately since early
age. Life Member of the American Philatelic Society, the American
First Day Cover Society, and, the International Philippine
Philatelic Society.
While in the Philippines, together with husband Frank, founded the
International Philippine Philatelic Society (IPPS) and served as the
first editor of the society’s publication. Wrote the catalog
Flight Covers of the Philippines 1947-1988. Under the auspices of
IPPS, helped co-write Errors, Freaks and Oddities on Philippine
Republic Stamps, 1946-1979.
Served as a member of the Philippine Stamp Advisory Committee, created to advise
the Postmaster General on Philippine stamp program, most
particularly on future stamp issues.
Worked closely with the United Nations Postal Administration of New
York promoting UN stamps in the Philippines through stamp exhibits,
lectures, and other projects.
Worked closely with Pan American Airways and Air France –
Concorde in the promotion of various philatelic projects for their
companies (First Flight Covers).
Was very active in local philatelic scene – organizing various stamp
exhibits, serving as adviser to various school stamp clubs, including
giving lectures; organizing stamp clinics to culminate in
competitive stamp exhibits among the students; arranging field trips.
Worked
with several organizations, both government and private, using
philately as a means of promotion for their anniversaries and other
milestones.
Was
chosen by the Bureau of Posts to have her hands "model" for a set of stamps
issued to commemorate the 1983 Philatelic Week (illustrated above).
